Heather began her love of Yoga in 1998 when she started attending classes and workshops to improve her posture, get fit and find the mental and emotional balance she was seeking. She immediately loved the way Yoga made her feel, and felt the benefits of Yoga in every aspect of her life. Heather has studied Iyengar, Hatha, and Kundalini Yoga, as well as meditation methods and the 5 Tibetan Rites.She is certidied as RYT 200 through Jaya Yoga Teacher Training at Flow Yoga. Special areas of study and certification include Yoga for Sports, Yoga for Seniors, Prenatal Yoga and Mat Pilates.

Heather enjoys working with groups and individuals of all ages and abilities, and her teaching style makes Yoga accessible for beginners with use of appropriate modifications, and challenging to those who have Yoga experience in order for them to make improvements and gains in their personal practice. Heather's favorite style is the flowing Vinyasa Yoga, in which movement and breath are united, allowing class participants to let go of daily stresses and focus inward. The variety allowed in Vinyasa Yoga keeps classes new and fresh each time, as poses are linked in a fluid dance with an endless possibility of sequences. Each practice is not only a physically challenging full body workout, but also an opportunity to become present, to find joy, peace and self acceptance.

Heather has taught Yoga in a variety of settings for groups of all sizes. If you are considering incorporating a Yoga session in your group retreat or gathering, please call for rates and other information.
